Privacy Policy
Last updated: 20 August 2026 · Published at https://www.go-apps.app/justrow/privacy
JustRow records your rowing on a Concept2 RowERG. This policy describes what it does with that information. It is short because the app does very little with it.
There is no JustRow server
JustRow has no backend. Nothing you record is sent to the developer, and there is no account to create.
Your workouts are stored on your iPhone and, when you are signed in to iCloud, in your own private iCloud database — the same place your other apps' iCloud data lives. That is what puts them on a new phone without your having to restore a backup. It is your iCloud account, governed by Apple's privacy policy; the developer cannot see it, and it is not a JustRow server by another name. If you are not signed in to iCloud, JustRow simply keeps everything on the device.
Beyond that, your workouts go somewhere else only because you asked them to.
What JustRow stores
- Workouts — date, duration, distance, pace, stroke rate, power, splits and drag factor, read from the monitor over Bluetooth.
- Heart rate, when an Apple Watch or a chest belt is providing it.
- Your settings, and which RowERG you last connected to.
- Your Concept2 sign-in, if you use it. The access and refresh tokens are held in the iOS keychain and marked as this-device-only: they do not sync to iCloud Keychain, and a backup restored onto another phone does not carry them. You sign in again there instead.
It is removed when you delete a workout — from the device, from iCloud, and from the destinations below.
Apple Health
If you grant permission, JustRow saves each workout to Apple Health — the workout itself, distance, active energy and heart rate. Health data is governed by Apple's privacy protections and is not accessible to the developer.
JustRow reads heart rate from Health so it can be recorded alongside your rowing. It is never used for advertising, marketing, or any purpose other than showing and storing your workout, and it is never shared with third parties.
You can withdraw permission at any time in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices, and remove what JustRow has written from within the Health app.
The Concept2 logbook
If you choose to sign in to your Concept2 account, JustRow uploads your workouts to your own logbook at log.concept2.com, and can remove them again. Sign-in uses Concept2's own web page — JustRow never sees your Concept2 password.
What is sent is the workout: date, duration, distance, pace, stroke data, splits, heart rate, and the weight class and privacy setting you chose in JustRow. Once it arrives, it is held by Concept2 under their privacy policy, not this one.
This is entirely optional. Every other part of JustRow works without it, and you can sign out at any time in Settings → Concept2 logbook.
Bluetooth
JustRow uses Bluetooth to talk to your RowERG's PM5 monitor and, if you turn it on, to relay your heart rate to the monitor's display. It is not used for location, for identifying you, or for anything other than the machine you are rowing on.
Tracking and analytics
There are none. JustRow contains no analytics, no advertising, no third-party SDKs, and no tracking of any kind. Nothing you do in the app is linked to you across other apps or websites.
Children
JustRow is not directed at children and collects nothing that would identify anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it, and the current version is always the one published here.
Contact
JustRow is published by Stephen Marsh, trading as GoApps (ABN 43 304 721 985). That is the name shown as the seller on the App Store.
